Frequently asked questions
Does HushLayers stream audio?
No. Its original white, pink and brown PCM noise files are bundled with the app and play offline.
Why did the sleep timer stop late?
The timer runs through the app process. If the operating system suspends the app, the stop action can occur later than the displayed deadline.
Can I return to the same mix later?
Yes. Save the current recipe, then choose Use mix from Saved recipes. Recipes and preferences stay on this device.
Where is my HushLayers data stored?
Your app content is stored in local app storage on your device. HushLayers has no account or cloud-sync service. Depending on your settings, local data may be included in an operating-system or cloud backup.
How do I manage tracking, analytics, and crash reports?
On iOS, Apple’s system App Tracking Transparency (ATT) setting is the only telemetry control. Apple’s system prompt appears only while the status is not determined. To review or change your choice, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and select HushLayers. Firebase remains unconfigured unless ATT is authorized, and every app feature remains available either way. On Android, the current shared telemetry path is disabled.
Why does HushLayers request device permission?

Does HushLayers show ads or require an account?
No. The current version has no ad-display SDK, does not show in-app ads, and has no login, account system, subscription, or in-app purchase. After iOS ATT authorization, Firebase may use IDFA only for installation attribution and advertising measurement as described in the Privacy Policy.
The app closed unexpectedly. What should I send?
Tell us your device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and the steps immediately before the issue. A screenshot can help, but hide anything you do not want to share.
