Frequently asked questions
Where are my scans and notes stored?
They are stored locally on this device. GlyphTally has no account and does not upload scan content, notes or batch data.
Can GlyphTally scan a code from a photo?
Yes. Choose an image with the system picker. On iPhone and iPad, image scanning supports QR codes only; on Android, the code should fill most of the image.
How do I export several scans?
Use Batch mode to collect scans, then choose Export CSV. The standard share sheet lets you choose where to send or save the file.
Where is my GlyphTally data stored?
Your app content is stored in local app storage on your device. GlyphTally has no account or cloud-sync service. Depending on your settings, local data may be included in an operating-system or cloud backup.
How do I manage tracking, analytics, and crash reports?
On iOS, Apple’s system App Tracking Transparency (ATT) setting is the only telemetry control. Apple’s system prompt appears only while the status is not determined. To review or change your choice, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and select GlyphTally. Firebase remains unconfigured unless ATT is authorized, and every app feature remains available either way. On Android, the current shared telemetry path is disabled.
Why does GlyphTally request device permission?
Camera access, used only while the scanner is visible User-selected photo access through the system image picker for on-device scanning Legacy Android write access through API 32 for generated-file sharing You can deny or later change permission in device settings; the related feature may then be unavailable.
Does GlyphTally show ads or require an account?
No. The current version has no ad-display SDK, does not show in-app ads, and has no login, account system, subscription, or in-app purchase. After iOS ATT authorization, Firebase may use IDFA only for installation attribution and advertising measurement as described in the Privacy Policy.
The app closed unexpectedly. What should I send?
Tell us your device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and the steps immediately before the issue. A screenshot can help, but hide anything you do not want to share.
